Lake Jeanette Swim and Tennis Club 2024

September 14, 2024, Greensboro, NC: Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) is immensely thankful to Lake Jeanette (LJ) Swim and Tennis Club for collaborating with BCH to generate Cancer awareness during their annual Adult Doubles Champs Tennis Tournament on September 14, 2024. We are so grateful to Coach Toby, Roshan Sood, LJ Swim and Tennis Club for choosing BCH as their charity of choice and raising $1233.26 {100% of the donations will be driven towards BCH’s mission (Donor’s choice)}. We have no words to express our gratitude to Roshan Sood (BCH 2023 Summer intern) and Coach Toby Curtis for the great initiative, planning, logistics, and flawless execution. We thank Poonam Sood, for her unparalleled support. We thank all the players whose support made the event a grand success.

During the outreach, we spread the message of Early detection Screening of Cancer, discussing the 100% Free grassroots sustainable services of BCH, by giving out the brochure with all the program information along with the QR codes to download the early detection cards, and contact information, so that any suspicious case can reach out to me later. We also handed out a wristband with a combination color of pink representing breast cancer in women, blue representing breast cancer in men, and purple inclusive of all genders and all cancers along with bookmarks with the message of togetherness. We also discussed our BCH Patient care package, which included the post-surgery mastectomy or lumpectomy comfort pillows with a pocket that allows using a cold or hot pack as part of the healing, chemo port seat belt pillows and chemo hats, a gesture of our love and care.

100% of BCH services are free of cost, and 100% of donations are driven towards our mission (donor’s choice).

With gratitude,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy, on behalf of BCH Family

BCH Club in Lake Norman Charter High School

Starting of First Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) Club in Lake Norman Charter High School, Huntersville, NC, in September 2024: For the past three years, many High School students have reached out to start BCH Clubs in their respective schools, but due to my BCH patient commitments and other programs spread out, I couldn’t approve with my time constraints. This year, I agreed to Sanjana Gopalakrishnan's persuasion, and I am very proud of the team: Sanjana, Akshara Gurudu, Viva Mittal, and Sahasra Poolugu for their enthusiasm and dedication. We are grateful to Ms. Michelle Wiehl (Club advisor) and Mr. Mark Maleck (Principal) for their approval and permission, supporting the cause..

On behalf of BCH, we designed the club activities to make a meaningful difference. They are not just tasks but opportunities to contribute to a cause that can change lives with no cost to be incurred by the school.

With gratitude,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy

With gratitude,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy, on behalf of the BCH family,

Message from Risha and Ruchi..

In April 2023, our mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. This news was devastating for our family. However, we were lucky it was diagnosed at Stage 2 due to her awareness of breast cancer. After noticing a lump, she immediately took action. While she went through harsh treatments, we felt helpless, unable to do anything. We understood that early detection and cancer awareness is much needed.

One of our friends was going through a similar situation in his family, and he took steps to donate to the cause. This inspired us, and ‘Gifts and Hope’ was born. We started making custom decor pieces and selling them through our Instagram, @giftsandhope. We decided to donate all profits towards cancer awareness and research. We were greatly supported by our family and friends and ended up raising a greater amount than expected.

While deciding on which organization to donate to, we recalled Dr. Lopamudra, whom we met virtually in an awareness session by the NRIVA. We donated our profits to Breast Cancer Hub.

Thank you to all of our supporters who believed in us and contributed towards the cause via ‘Gifts and Hope.’ Our Instagram handle @giftsandhope”

December 09, 2023, Waxhaw, NC: On behalf of Breast Cancer Hub, we convey our heartfelt thanks to Ritu Mukherjee, Nrityangan Cultural Academy (NCA) for choosing BCH as their charity of choice for the musical AMIL, helping raise $6388.04 and also inviting me to speak, and conduct educational outreach, helping to generate awareness. It was our privilege to honor Ritu Mukherjee with an award of recognition, as a token of our appreciation, for supporting the cause of BCH and making a difference.

We were immensely grateful to the esteemed participants, guests, and the kind-hearted donors who contributed towards AMIL fundraiser, and without their generosity, the event wouldn’t have been a success. The eloquent anchoring of Dr Deba Sarma and Aarti Sengupta was amazing! We were enchanted with the in-depth concept of AMIL depicting the scenario of Male Breast Cancer which was gracefully enacted by the amazing performers taking us to the enthralling world of music, leaving us with the memories of a beautiful evening!

No words to express our gratitude to Swati Yadav (Founder-Swati Designs), for creating the BCH photo booth. We thank all our inspiring BCH supporters who stopped by - Indu Vaidyanathan, Mini Kartha, Moushumi Ghosh Behera to name a few….

During the outreach, we spread the message of Early detection Screening of Cancer, discussing the 100% Free grassroots sustainable services of BCH, by giving out the brochure with all the program information along with the QR codes to download the early detection cards, and contact information, so that any suspicious case can reach out to me later.
