A huge shout out to “Learning Beyond” and the amazing students offering tuition services to those who need. Thank you so much for considering Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) for the proceeds & raising $545 for BCH mission. So proud of the team, setting example for the young generation.

A big thank you,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy, on behalf of BCH Family

Quote from the Learning Beyond Team:

“We are Srivalli Kantamneni and Rakshita Raajesh, two ninth-graders currently attending Cox Mill High School. I(Srivalli)created something called Learning Beyond and looped in Rakshita as my partner. We have been observing the difficulty of learning virtually and want to ease the obstacles presented by this situation. So, we are working together to spread this movement and offer tuition services to those who need it. We have worked on reaching out to the community and want to expand the reach of our program. Our mission is to help students from K-8 continue learning even though we cannot attend school as usual. In order to make the transition to the next year as easy and stress-free as possible, we would like to offer these free volunteer services for anyone interested. We currently have nine students enrolled in our program. To suit that demand we have two volunteers in addition to ourselves. We have two ninth-graders, Geethika Venkatraman and Kovida Vupputuri, from Lake Norman Charter. Due to our services for the past 8 months, we have received interest in tipping the volunteers as a token of appreciation. Since this is a volunteer-led program, we didn’t want to directly receive tips or funds. Therefore, we wanted to provide these funds to an established non-profit organization. We have greatly admired the work of Breast Cancer Hub and Dr. Lopa which encouraged us to transfer these funds to Breast Cancer Hub and help with their initiative. We are proud to say we have raised $545.00 for Breast Cancer Hub from our services. Please see the attached flyer for more information about our program and don’t hesitate to reach out to us through the contact information!”

October 16, 2020: BCH North Georgia Chapter Directors - leading & executing commmunity outreach

A big shout out to BCH North Georgia Chapter Directors - Harini Mohan, Sanjana Surapaneni, Zeid Amer, Eshan Shah, Rohan Anne for flawlessly leading and executing community outreach on October 16, 2020. The team’s creativity and thought process was outstanding. It was an amazing initiative to spread the word of Early detection & prevention, a step towards saving lives. We are extremely grateful to Harini and her family for opening your backyard for the event. We thank all the parents, children and families for coming forward to be a part of the event. Also a big thank you to our volunteers who helped our team.

Here’s the message from the Team (Georgia Chapter Directors)

“With Covid 19 restricting the way we as a community socialize and come together, we believed Heart2Art would act as a breath of fresh air. This was an event where both children and their families were able to come to express themselves through painting, socialize with the community while still social distancing, watch a family friendly movie on the big screen, and stop by our snack cart for a quick bite. Many families showed up and did exactly that while also picking up a breast examination card. Not only did we get the community to smile and pick up exam cards but we also had the opportunity to tell the community about BCH and what we do as an organization! As the co-directors of BCH North Georgia, we acknowledged the need for safety during these stressful times so we put certain measures in place such as mandating masks, sanitizing stations, and socially distanced areas! All proceeds from Heart2Art went straight to BCH.”

We thank you,

BCH Chicago Chapter Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign & Art - Bake Fundraiser

collage oct.jpg

A big shout out to Breast Cancer Hub Corporation Chicago Chapter Director - Shalini Rao for organizing the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign & Art & Bake Fundraiser Sale in Chicago. So well planned and executed! So proud of you Shalini Rao.

Message from Shalini..

"October is marked as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month across the world by the World Health Organization.. This helps to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease.

At Breast Cancer Hub , we believe that Early detection saves lives. Inspired and motivated by Dr. Lopamudra Das Roy, we at the BCH - Chicago Chapter conducted an Awareness Campaign and Art & Bake Fundraiser Sale on Saturday, the 3rd of October in the northern Suburb of Chicago. The campaign was received very well by the community. People were really absorbing the information as to what each one of us can do to know our bodies, how to do a monthly breast self-examination, how to prevent cancer by following good diet, exercise and living a stress-free mindful life. Many deep conversations regarding health started with total strangers, which was a very satisfying experience. What made the event even more special was the involvement of children, who are our young Ambassadors.

I would like to specially thank Jana and her parents Susanna Castella and Marc for working laboriously baking super-delicious 60 Brownies and Cookies for the Fundraiser. Jana is a middle-school student and her enthusiasm to actively participate is incredible.

I would also like to thank Ishana and her parents Shiv and Kavita Iyer for making beautiful, creative bookmarks for the Fundraiser. Ishana also helped in making people aware of the Breast Cancer Month. Her enthusiasm and energy did attract a lot of people to stop-by.

Last, but not the least, my husband Venkatesh and sons Pranshu and Pratyay who helped me right from the conception of this event in creating the Flyer, making art stuff and bookmarks, and also the conversations each and every day as to why it is important to spread the awareness, and how early detection can change your life and prognosis, made the whole effort fruitful.

It is with deep gratitude that I would like to thank all my friends and neighbours who came and not only participated in the awareness program, but also donated generously for the cause. Shilpa and Hemanth Kumar, Ritu Jain, Aditi Doradla, Ramaa Krishnan, Shefali Nathan and her family, Julie Ugarte, Unnati Gupta, Anshu Arora, Kavita Iyer, Julie Rosenheim are the few names that come to mind. And so many people in the neighbourhood who stopped by to support the cause.

In total, we raised a total of 600$ that shall be strictly used for the cause globally."

On behalf of BCH family, we are so excited & thrilled!

Samhita Nunna, raising funds for BCH

sammi.JPG

A big shout out to Samhita Nunna, from Charlotte, our "watermelon girl making a ripe difference with juicy melons" raised $131 for BCH. When Samhita came to give me the $131 she earned through her hardwork & dedication, the excitement & satisfaction on her face was unparalled. So proud of our darling Sammi, our BCH youth ambassador!

We are grateful to Uma & Krish, the farm owners from Mt. Pleasant who graciously gaveaway their watermelon produce. A big thank you to Padma Nunna for executing the process with so much love, energy & creativity. We are so thankful to each person who came forward to purchase the melons & all of Sammi's friends who supported her.

All our donations go strictly for the cause.

A big thank you on behalf of BCH family!

Life cannot be more rewarding when my students I taught Genetics almost 18 years back at Garden City University, India, reached out to learn about BCH work. I couldn’t be happier to conduct the workshop with accomplised researchers, Dr Kalpita Rashmi Karan (Columbia University, New York City), Dr Ananya Kar (Dundee University, UK) & Dr Ramya Nandakumar (Aarhus University, Denmark), coming forward to volunteer for BCH undertaking important roles that will help to make impactful changes in the network & community helping to save lives. So proud of you & I am blessed to be your mentor.

We are so grateful & thirlled to have you in our BCH family!

XCELERATE NC Inc. supporting BCH - helping to raise funds

XNC_COLLAGE.JPG

A big shout out to Team Xcelerate for supporting BCH & the cause, helping raise funds for BCH. We are so grateful for your kind selfless gestures! Truly amazing!

The sister-brother duo, Aditi Sengupta and Anirudh Sengupta, founded Xcelerate NC, a Non-Profit Organization registered in North Carolina, USA. Both siblings decided that they would use their knowledge and skills to teach the students using free online sessions. With this motivation, they formed Xcelerate NC. www.xceleratenc.org

From Team Xcelerate:

“Xcelerate NC believes in Breast Cancer Hub’s mission of saving lives through awareness. We are inspired by the tremendous work they are doing to educate the communities about Breast Cancer.

Xcelerate NC's mission is to accelerate the growth of young minds and help them excel. It offers FREE online Public Speaking and Math sessions to young kids anywhere in the world. We encourage parents of our students to contribute to charities helping the community and list Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) as one of our favorite charitable organizations. We will continue to help raise funds for BCH by conducting online sessions. “

We thank you,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy on behalf of BCH family!

There are people in this world & through their own ways, they make an impact.. here I am mesmerized with the amazing Hema Kochi from Charlotte who was an integral part of our BCH#TogetherWeAreOneCovid19MaskTeam & now she is helping to raise fund for Breast Cancer Hub Corporation through her extremely innovative idea - by selling her plants. We are immensely thankful to Mr Krishna Kochi for the tremendous support.
Hema raised $200 for BCH & we cannot be more grateful! Each penny counts & is driven towards our Mission.
