CARE PACKAGE FOR BCH PATIENTS

September 28, 2022: Care Package for BCH Cancer Patients in North Carolina and Other parts of THE USA

A very special moment as we have been working on this project since June 2022 and this is the final outcome today.

We are creating mastectomy or lumpectomy comfort pillows with a pocket that allows to use a cold or hot pack as part of the healing. We are making Chemo hats, and will also make Chemo port seat belt pillows in future, a gesture to show our Love for our BCH Cancer fighters from North Carolina and USA as we plan to ship them.

So grateful to Cabarrus Knit/Crochet/Sewing Charity Group for collaborating with Breast Cancer Hub and stitching for our Cancer Thrivers. I am extremely thankful to Debra Bunker for reaching out in April, and our discussions gave me hope to create prototypes for our Cancer patients in the USA, with essential items required during the treatment process. So grateful to Debra, Pam Skillman, and Barbara Baker for all your efforts to stitch the pillows and the chemo hats.

Thank you, Sarika Mohan and Anusha Mishra, integral members of our BCH Cancer Support family, for guiding us with suggestions, and invaluable feedback.

With gratitude,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy, on behalf of our Breast Cancer Hub family

Note from the Tennis Tournament Organizer:

Nithin Nallapati came up with the idea of fundraising for Breast Cancer Hub through a tennis tournament. He ran his idea with his coaches and the logistics around it. He booked the tennis courts at Mallard creek high school tennis park as suggested by his coach. He made the flyers and enabled the registration through his website (www.cltyouthclub.org). Nithin answered the questions of the participants and their parents about the event. The tournament was promoted by Nithin and his friends Richard Natale, Anthony Tarulli, and Dominic Tarulli among friends, family, coaches, and through social media.

On the day of the tournament, Nithin, Tony, and Dom reached the tennis courts and arranged the registration booth for the participants. They managed the registration, transaction, match results, and medal distribution. They raised $696 for the event. This could not have happened if Mrs. Sonia Dhar didn’t introduce BCH to Mr. Manish Dhar. Thank you so much for your kindest gestures. With BCH, all our services are free of cost & 100% of your contributions will be driven towards our mission. Over here, as per the donors’ choice, it would go for the screening, treatment aid & management for colon cancer patients & other types of cancers for the underprivileged sectors in extreme need, who have no one to help them. Thank you for stepping up to save lives.

We are so grateful to Mrs. Ravina Kashyap, Mrs. Hema Appaji, Mr. Ramkrishna Nallapati, and our youth ambassador Laasya Bodducherla for receiving the check on behalf of BCH, and flawlessly executing the outreach, spreading the message of Early detection and Prevention of Cancer, and discussing the grassroots diverse missions of BCH. We are so honored with your selfless support towards BCH & the community - take a bow! We also wanted to convey our heartfelt thanks to Uday Vedre for always supporting BCH & our cause.

Feeling blessed,

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy on behalf of the BCH family

Trunk or Treat with a Cause - BCH North Georgia Chapter

Trunk or Treat with a Cause - BCH North Georgia Chapter: October 27, 2021 - at the Alliance Academy for Innovation:

Hats off to Harini Mohan, Zeid Amer, Sanjana Surapaneni, Eshan Shah, Rohan Anne, our BCH North Georgia Chapter Co-Directors, for flawlessly executing the Trunk or Treat with passion & dedication, generating awareness with fun activities at the Alliance Academy for Innovation event.

Here’s a note from the Team : “ We were able to represent the North Georgia Branch of BCH, spread awareness, pass out candy to trick or treaters, and paint faces. With COVID still impacting our communities we wanted to spread some holiday spirit with our face painting station and spooky decorations while still raising awareness during October, breast cancer month.”

Very proud of the team

Dr Lopamudra Das Roy, on behalf of BCH Family www.breastcancerhub.org
