BCH BOD Meeting

BCH BOD Meeting

Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) stands strong for the unprecedented support of our BODs over the years, and no words to express my gratitude for believing in the vision and mission and helping BCH grow. I wanted to take this opportunity today, to convey my heartfelt thanks to our Board of Directors, who come from varied disciplines, and expertise, and have selflessly contributed their time, guidance, and support as required over the years. I am so grateful to Evey Cormican, Julie Daugherty, Benjamin Guerrero, Sandeep Roy, for your immensely precious presence at the BCH Board meeting on 26th March 2023, reviewing the 2022 BCH work progress, the financial analysis, discussing the future plans and providing your feedback and insights. The Board members Dr. Alan Cheng, and Devaraj Das, who couldn't attend, will be in the loop as I will share the meeting recording and minutes. Our ongoing conversations also continue through our BCH BOD WhatsApp group.
Also, wanted to convey our thanks to Dustin Childers who served the Board in the past and has been extremely insightful.

Cannot thank you all enough,
Lopamudra Das Roy, on behalf of BCH family

Military Scholars Youth Development - The Queen City Drill Classic

Military Scholars Youth Development - The Queen City Drill Classic, BCH Community outreach, March 25, 2023, Charlotte, NC, USA.

On behalf of Breast Cancer Hub (BCH), we are thankful to Marcus Bryant for the invitation to represent BCH and share our educational materials and helpful resources.

I am extremely thankful to Pam Skillman, Debra Bunker, Barbara Baker, Suhasini, Brenda Smith and her team from We're Sew Creative for creating the post-surgery pillows with pocket for hot/cold pack to heal the process, chemo port seat belt pillows and chemo hats respectively. We gave out the care package during the outreach to two visitors, whose family is currently undergoing Cancer treatment.

It was so wonderful to meet Fostoria Pierson, and the team of Blue Star Mothers of Charlotte, doing amazing service to the community and Alleen Ford-Megget from Love Speaks Out, doing great work.

One of my missions through BCH is to inculcate the art of scientific thinking & thought leadership in the youth, shaping their mind to give back in a meaningful way, by creating a social impact and stepping up to help save lives. A huge shout-out and I am so proud of our BCH Youth Ambassadors: Sai Bandaru, Maneesh Madavarapu, Kaushik Appalanani, Bhanu Krishnamsetty, Aneesh Suddala, and Aditya Raghava Lakamsani, for volunteering at the event, spreading the message of Early detection Screening of Cancer, discussing the grassroots diverse missions of BCH, by giving out the brochure with the QR codes to download the early detection cards, and contact information, so that any suspicious case can reach out to me later. We also handed out a wristband with a combination color of pink representing breast cancer in women, blue representing breast cancer in men and purple inclusive of all genders and all cancers along with bookmarks with the message of togetherness.

100% of BCH services are free of cost, and All donations driven towards our Mission.

Care package for BCH Cancer thrivers, NC and USA

January 30, 2023, Concord, NC: A very special moment as more kindhearted souls join in today towards our BCH Cancer Fighters Care Package Project - Brenda Smith and Sandy Thomas. Thank you Brenda for reaching out to me in January 2023, and thankful to Sandy and you for the time to meet us, and your kindest gestures to support the patients.

We have been creating mastectomy or lumpectomy comfort pillows with a pocket that allows using a cold or hot pack as part of the healing and also to be used later in the surgery areas. We are making Chemo hats, and also Chemo port seat belt pillows, a gesture to show our Love for our BCH Cancer fighters from North Carolina and the USA.

Since June 2022, Debra Bunker, Pam Skillman, and Barbara Baker have been selflessly stitching for our Cancer patients, and we could accomplish great success, in building the care package and gifting to our patients. Thank you again, Debra and Pam, without you both, this wouldn’t have been possible, to come this far on the BCH care package project, and now take this further, with your invaluable time, insights, guidance, and support.

We had a very fruitful meeting on 30th January 2023. Debra and Pam, walked our new team through our prototypes, and we can’t wait for March 4th, 2023, when Brenda and Sandy’s team will come together to generate more post-surgery pocket pillows, chemo hats, and chemo port pillows.
