Such a proud moment, thank you so much, Dr Manas Das, and the Dept. of Zoology, Gauahati University, for carrying the message of Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) forward after our in-person meeting and seminar on December 9th, 2021.

A huge shout out to Dr Manas Das and his team of students for building the Outstanding Wall Magazine with their own artwork, from the published resources. Thank you for keeping the touch of Blue with Pink in the ribbon, representing that Breast Cancer doesn’t discriminate. Cachar-Screening Camp

December 18, 2021: Bhorakhai Tea Estate, Cachar, Assam: Indian Medical Association (IMA) Assam State Branch in association with Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) executed a very successful camp - CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING (PAP SMEAR) and Breast Cancer screening, for suspicious cases from the BCH adopted villages. The Pap smear reports were later analyzed by Dr. Bijoylakshmi Das and Dr. Sarmishtha Bhattacharjee and the cases that need immediate attention, are now being addressed by BCH, taking the patients to Silchar Medical College for further treatment and procedures. BCH team is extremely thankful to IMA - Dr. Sarmistha Bhattacharya for helping to organize and execute the Camp, with Dr. Bijoylakshmi Das, Dr. Bandana Das, Dr. Monika Deb, Dr. Devanjana Dutta.
We are very grateful to the panel of esteemed physicians from IMA for extending your support to our patients from the BCH adopted villages, as we (the BCH team) navigate and accompany the suspicious cervical cancer cases to Silchar Medical College for further diagnosis and treatment.

On behalf of Breast Cancer Hub, immensely happy to honor Ms Pooja Das (mentor) and the students of Bantarapur Recreation Center for the splendid concepts and artwork reflecting the Vision of BCH. Thank you Sanalembi Devi for giving me the biggest surprise, I couldn’t be happier to see our kids shedding the barriers of stigma and stepping up to spread the word through their creativity. A huge shoutout to Pooja Das (extremely talented teacher) and the artistic kids -Poireihanbi Singha, M. Sanjita Singha, S. Hanish Singha, Nungshi Singha, Ng. Langlen Singha, H. Thambaltombi Chanu, M. Nilkamal Singha) working in the BCH Adopted Villages Project, for door to door cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment management, and counseling. We were delighted to bestow the Awards of Appreciation and Honor our BCH Covid-19 Volunteers who stepped up to help during the BCH Covid-19 Food relief, Safety protocol execution & Mask Distribution in 2021 (Linthoingambi Meira lup Woman; Bantarapur Voluntary Woman Welfare Association-Golachina; Mr. Pradip Kumar Singha, Mrs. Punabati Singha, Mrs. Radhe Singha, Mrs. Lakhitan Singha, Mr. Shyam Kishore Singha, Ms. Nungshi Singha, Ms. Mangngal Singha, Mrs. Ramani Devi, Y. December 16, 2021, Nabinchandra College (NC College), Badarpur, District – Karimganj, Assam – Sincerely appreciate the initiative of Dr. Mounita Nath (Convenor Women Cell), who connected with me through Facebook, and invited me to conduct the outreach at NC College. I was so amazed meeting the enthusiastic students with great interactions and a very fulfilling session to teach the college students about the Breast Cancer screening process and Breast Self Exam and how they can translate the information to their families. It was my immense honor to meet Dr Mortuza Hussain (Principal), Dr Swapan Das (Medical officer at NC College) and, and the Faculty members who helped organize and flawlessly execute the event, : Women Cell - Dr. Barnashree Bakshi, Dr. Rupdutta Roy, Pragati Dutta, Nandita Dutta, Papari Das, Dr. Sushmita Nath, Dr. Mounita Nath and Sri Santosh Kr Dey (Vice – Principal) and Sri Jaynal Abedin Tapadar.
We are also immensely thankful to NC College for donating Rs. 2000 to Breast Cancer Hub. All BCH services are free of cost and 100% of the contribution from NC College is driven towards the BCH adopted villages in Cachar, for door to door cancer screening, and treatment aid for the underprivileged.

December 8, 2021, Udmari village, Nagaon, Upper Assam (Outreach at Amina Khatun Jatia Vidyalaya & Breast Cancer Hub Epidemiological Research Study Team Meet)– A very successful outreach, among the Higher Secondary Students & Faculty. With hardly any awareness on the Breast Cancer Screening, the students were informed and also will pass the information within their own families & network like a ripple effect. We distributed all the educational materials, providing the simple solutions in their hands to take it forward, and also taking accountability for any suspicious cases can reach out to me for help & treatment guidance. Always grateful to Dr Afifa Kausar & the ADP College for your unprecedented support along with the efforts of our BCH team involved in the Nagaon project. Thank you Dr Afifa, Zuganta Das, Biswajit Kalita for your tremendous help to execute the event. December 6, 2021, Sodpur, Kolkata (Breast Cancer Hub in collaboration with Sreema Mahila Samity from Dattapulia, Nadia, West Bengal): We are extremely thankful to Mr. Akhaya Kumar Mohanty for connecting with the Sreema Mahila Samity. The enthusiasm is reflected as the members took the pain to travel to Sodpur for the Breast Cancer Scientific Awareness session from Nadia. I will follow up with any suspicious cases reaching out in future for help & guidance. In addition, Breast Cancer Hub is planning to adopt Kumari (Border village) & Huda (Tribal village) in the Nadia district for door to door cancer screening awareness, treatment management & counseling in July/August 2022 in association with Sreema Mahila Samity. We had our initial meeting with Mr. Akhaya Mohanty, Mr. Jyotirmoy Saraswati, Mrs. Sovona Chaterjee, Mr. Sabarna Saraswaty on 6th December & we are looking forward with the execution in Summer 2022.

In association with Mr. Akhaya Mohanty, BCH also plans to adopt village in Odisha in July/August 2022. On another note, BCH is also planning to adopt villages in 2022 July/August in South India.

The farmers will take the campaign forward as they represented the following villages - 1) Pandravedu; 2) Grollalakuppam; 3) Ponpadi; 4) Thiruthani; 5) R.K Pettai; 6) V.P.R Puram 7) Pappireddypalli; 8. Kasavarajpettai; 9) Nappallur; 10) Ponthalakandigai; 11) Mosurkandigai; 12)Pandhikuppam; 13) Thalayarthangal; 14) E.N Kandigai' 15) Arungulakandigai; 16) Vinayagapuram; 17) T.N.R Kandigai.

Thank you Sandeep Roy for connecting me to Suzanne Holmberg from TIST in March 2021, and thank you Suzanne for connecting me with Catherine & Joseph Rexon as we started to plan this outreach in the last few months. It was so amazing meeting Joseph & the TIST team in-person & I am touched with the warmth & the flawless execution. Thank you Joseph for interpreting the session. it was a great feeling to see that from hardly any cancer screening knowledge & awareness, the villagers walked away with the understanding of the self screening protocols & also discussed the concerns, with assurance that they will connect with us in future with any suspicious symptoms, so that we can help & guide.
