December 16, 2021, Nabinchandra College (NC College), Badarpur, District – Karimganj, Assam – Sincerely appreciate the initiative of Dr. Mounita Nath (Convenor Women Cell), who connected with me through Facebook, and invited me to conduct the outreach at NC College. I was so amazed meeting the enthusiastic students with great interactions and a very fulfilling session to teach the college students about the Breast Cancer screening process and Breast Self Exam and how they can translate the information to their families. It was my immense honor to meet Dr Mortuza Hussain (Principal), Dr Swapan Das (Medical officer at NC College) and, and the Faculty members who helped organize and flawlessly execute the event, : Women Cell - Dr. Barnashree Bakshi, Dr. Rupdutta Roy, Pragati Dutta, Nandita Dutta, Papari Das, Dr. Sushmita Nath, Dr. Mounita Nath and Sri Santosh Kr Dey (Vice – Principal) and Sri Jaynal Abedin Tapadar.
We are also immensely thankful to NC College for donating Rs. 2000 to Breast Cancer Hub. All BCH services are free of cost and 100% of the contribution from NC College is driven towards the BCH adopted villages in Cachar, for door to door cancer screening, and treatment aid for the underprivileged.
On behalf of Breast Cancer Hub, post session, we distributed the Breast Self Exam Cards in local language and the BCH Brochures with the QR code of Breast Self Exam cards in 24 languages & also QR code of Early detection Cards for other prevalent cancers, to download & share in the network with BCH contact information, so that any suspicious case can reach out to me if need any further guidance, support & counseling & we can navigate in the right direction, help detect & treat early as early detection is the key to saving lives.
