Humbled to be the Guest of Honor on International Women’s Day,2020-Jubo Darpan
Sincere gratitude from Breast Cancer Hub Corporation to Mr Dilu Das & Jubo Darpan for the invite as Guest of Honor on International Women’s Day,2020. So grateful to receive the platform where I could translate the message #BreakTheBreastTaboo as shyness & ignorance leads to late detection to Breast Cancer in India. Also, let’s break our culture in Northeast India where we serve paan, supari, zarda, lime or tobacco in any form within families or guests. Tobacco is the greatest contributor to Oral cancer and other cancers.
Thank you Jubo Darpan for supporting the cause. Let’s come together in our fight against Cancer.

Borakhai Tea Garden-BCH adopted village in Cachar district, Assam. Cancer screening, treatment & management
February 29, 2020: Borakhai Tea Garden-BCH adopted village in Cachar district, Assam.
I am so surprised to meet each woman & man in the household addicted to any form of tobacco & mostly unaware of the consequesnces. We are trying to prohibit the intake of Paan-Gutka, Khaini, Maava, or tobacco in any form as that's contributing to oral cancer & other type of Cancer in North-East India and preaching about Healthy lifestyle as preventative measure.
We are going to each household for Cancer Screening (Breast, Oral & Cervical-the Top 3 cancers in India) & Awareness with each member of the family & if detected, we are coordinating with Cachar Cancer Hospital & following up on further diagnostics, treatment & patient management & care.

Orientation & Mentoring session: BCH adopted village in Cachar district- Bantarapur, Manipuri community
BCH adopted village in Cachar district- Bantarapur, Manipuri community. I have conducted the Orientation & mentoring session on 28th February 2020 & I take the responsibility to execute the project with authenticity. Our team- Project coordinator- Sana Lembi, project help- Prosenjit & Sarita. My thoughts to adopt the village is to take complete care from
Early detection of Breast, Oral
& Cervical cancer, to Cancer screening & Cancer Care with regard to patient management so that we try our best not lose anymore lives to Cancer due to late detection, Taboo & ignorance. We are also conducting an epidemiological research study to understand the importance & urgency.
We are also working on the government schemes for underprivileged population in the Bantarapur village so that patients do not go untreated. We will provide financial aid to patients extremely poor from our BCH patient treatment bucket if government schemes are not accessible.
We have collaborated with Cachar Cancer Hospital- Padma Shri recipient Dr Ravi Kannan-Director, Dr Subhadra Goala (patient screening division) & Mr Devabrat Dutta, to navigate the patients for further diagnostic screening & treatment. We are extremely thankful to the Cachar Cancer Hospital Team for their support.
