Nargis Dutt Foundation was first set up in 1981 in New York city by Shri Sunil Dutt and the Indian Community in New York, after Smt Nargis Dutt succumbed to Cancer after a yearlong battle at the Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. It is presently managed by Ms Priya Dutt (Trustee & Chairperson).
Nargis Dutt Foundation works passionately in the space of Cancer Care. Since 1981 over 100 rural hospitals across India has been equipped with medical diagnostic equipment and cancer screening mobile vans. We conduct regular cancer screening camps and support needy patients with their cancer treatment.
The first bone marrow transplant in India was supported by Nargis Dutt Foundation. The ICU at Tata Memorial was named after Nargis Dutt, and was inaugurated by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Nargis Dutt Foundation is a registered, charitable organization since 1981 working passionately in the areas of Health, Education, Women Empowerment and Animal Welfare. The trust is registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950 under registration number E- 9080.

Mission statement:
We at Nargis Dutt Foundation believe that cancer is curable through early detection, diagnosis and treatment. Our Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative started in Mohali, Punjab, on 1st April soon desiring to make the campaign pan India. Through the campaign Jeeto, we are reaching out to every woman to clear her doubts about breast cancer and to get checked regularly. Our vison and mission is in line with Breast Cancer HUB to spread awareness about breast cancer as Awareness is Power.
