Went to Medical school in Kolkata, India and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi for postgraduate studies. Completed residency training in Internal Medicine in State University of New York, Brooklyn.
Started working in Bronx Care, an affiliate of Mount Sinai as assistant Professor, subsequently moved to University of Connecticut Health ctr and finally to Atrium Health in 2008 as medical director as well as associate professor of Internal medicine.
I have published in peer reviewed journals, wrote book chapter and has been a participant and coinvestigator. of several research grants. I have also received a couple of awards from Atrium Health, Carolinas physician of Indian origin, Greater Charlotte Healthcare executive and American college of Physician.
Throughout my career, my mission and vision has been to serve underserved, disfranchised population with poor access to healthcare and provide them highest quality healthcare as well as training and educating next generation healthcare providers.
Health equity and inclusivity is my goal and passion. I am a fierce feminist and an advocate for developmental disability population.
I Live in Charlotte with my husband who is a researcher dn Professor, my 23-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter and 9-month-old poodle.
My hobbies are: reading books (novel and poetry), listening to NPR, dancing (Indian ballet)

Mission Statement
Breast cancer hub is doing the work that matches with my mission which is raising awareness, educating individuals and improving access for breast cancer screening particularly among those who have barriers to care.
As a physician, I can participate in educating, examining and connecting patients to services for either screening or breast cancer care.
