I am an ophthalmologist now working under the joint director of health services Kamrup.

I attend various eye camps and other health programmes in different rural areas of Kamrup.I also attend eye OPD on Fridays in a civil hospital in Amingaon,namely Tolaram Bafna Hospital.

Earlier I was posted in Hengrabari Medical Unit,Guwahati as a Medical and Health Officer1.I had come across females especially from Boro and Muslim  communities who seriously need to be health educated.

What I ‘ve observed personally as a health personnel in my nine years of service is that the women folk  are yet lagging behind in education and personal hygiene. The main reason being poverty and illiteracy.

Mission statement:
I would like to educate the women regarding the importance of self examination of the breasts so that there can be an early diagnosis and successful treatment. I have two more colleagues in my work place who can come forward for the cause.
