Bithika Nag, interview in bengali-ENGLISH
Interview with Mrs. Bithika Nag, Breast Cancer Survivor, Diagnosed at Stage III
Date of Meeting: 4th August, 2018, Silchar, Assam, India
My sincere thanks to Mrs. Tomali Brahmachari for connecting me to Mrs. Bithika Nag, 75 yrs, diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer five years back. It was a pleasure meeting Mrs. Nag and her wonderful family on 4th August 2018! Mrs. Nag was shy to speak up and even ignorant about the situation that delayed the diagnosis. I was so happy and proud of Mrs. Nag since in the interview she urged others not to commit the same mistake as she did and requested everyone to break the taboo and come out of the stigma. It takes a lot of courage to speak our mind and Mrs. Nag was not hesitant to do so!
Mrs. Nag’s wonderful beautiful daughters, Mrs. Barnali Homchoudhury, Mrs. Swarnali Paul and her husband Mr. Abanindra Kr. Nag, were her pillars of strength who helped her fight the disease! Mrs. Nag is appreciative of her loving grandchildren, family friends Mrs. Jhimli Bhattacharya and others who have supported her tremendously.
With the enormous strength and support from her wonderful family, she could fight stage III Breast cancer valiantly and courageously! Mrs. Nag, her inspiring story will save so many lives! Hats off to Mrs. Nag!
