.My name is Hema Appaji. Originally I am from South India and living in Charlotte, NC for past 17 years with my husband Madhu and 2 loving kids Ritvik and Laasya. I work at TIAA as a Content Manager. I enjoy my work and outside my work, I love to spend time with my family and friends. My children taught me the true meaning of life and I cherish every moment I spend with them. I love to dance, workout and enjoy nature walks.

Mission statement:
My mission is to encourage and motivate women to be proactive and do their annual mammogram. I lost my maternal grandmother to breast cancer when she was 53 years old. I never got to see my grandmother as she passed way before I was born. I am extremely passionate about bringing awareness of breast cancer to others – so families won’t experience the devastating loss of a loved one to something that could potentially be treated if found and diagnosed early.

I would like to be a part of Breast Cancer Hub (BCH) & its cause, so that I can do my part to spread awareness about Breast Cancer. It’s a very noble cause and being a part of it would give me a sense of joy and fulfillment. I look at it as an opportunity for me to give back to the society that I am a part of.
