Daniel Sidney, PhD
Accuray, Inc.; Physicist
Madison, Wisconsin, USA
I grew up with my parents and three siblings in Connecticut, and I went to college and graduate school in New England. Now I live in Madison, Wisconsin, with my wife and three daughters. My professional career has largely been in the medical device space, and for the past 14 years I have worked at Accuray, the designer, manufacturer, and distributor of the CyberKnife and TomoTherapy radiation cancer therapy systems. I enjoy running, reading, traveling, and quality time with my friends and family. I also try to positively contribute to my various communities, and to raise my children to be likeminded.
Mission statement:
Accuray makes treatment systems for cancers in general, and certainly including breast cancer. It is a cause I believe in, and it gives me great pride to work toward improved future management of cancer. I have friends and family that have suffered from and even succumbed to cancer, and I have witnessed needless death from late cancer diagnosis. I see the potential role BCH can play in literally saving lives through raising awareness, and I am inspired by BCH founder Dr. Lopamudra Das Roy’s vision.
