Region Dundee, Scotland, UK
I am a molecular biologist. I completed my PhD from National institute of Immunology (New Delhi, India), where I studied DNA damage signaling pathways. After that I moved to UK with my spouse and currently, I work as a postdoctoral researcher (at School of Life sciences, University of Dundee, UK), studying how cells faithfully replicate DNA without leaving any region under-replicated.
When I am not with my equipment and cells in the laboratory, I love spending my time in the world of books or amidst nature, hiking in the Scottish hills.
MISSION STATEMENT:
Cancer research has made a lot of progress in the last few decades, yet cancer remains one of the largest causes of death. In a lot of cases, these deaths are avoidable if cancer is detected early. However, it is heartbreaking to see so many people lose the battle to the big C due to lack of awareness leading to late detection. What inspires me to be part of the BCH family is its motto to address some of the key factors at the grass-root level: raising awareness, breaking the social stigma, and providing financial support to the underprivileged.
