Anurag Sriram - Summer 2020
Anuragh Sriram is a current senior at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. He is very passionate about math and science, in particular, biology and chemistry. Outside of school, his hobbies include hiking, reading, and learning. He volunteers at several places like the Greensboro Science Center and is the Director of the AP Initiative Program and a Lead Tutor at the North Carolina Virtual Public School’s Peer Tutoring Center. He is a member of the International Youth Neuroscience Association and the founder and president of his school’s Neuroscience Club. Anuragh first got involved with the Breast Cancer Hub last year, as a participant in the Young Scientist Cancer Meet, where he researched pancreatic cancer. This event impressed on him the importance of outreach, and propelled Anuragh to integrate local outreach projects into his Neuroscience Club. Wanting to continue pursuing research and outreach, Anuragh was thrilled to join Breast Cancer Hub as a scientific writer intern. He researched the global statistics of Carcinoma in-situ and metastatic breast cancer in developed and developing countries. Anuragh wants to become a neurosurgeon, and later do research with this. However, he never wants to give up his passion for teaching and outreach and will continue to pursue these things anyway he can.
